The King of the Monsters in his epic glorious moment of BA awesomeness in Godzilla vs. Gigan, returning to battle after almost being down and out. I have LOVED this since I was little, and I always will. This will be available as a print for G-Fest 20.

Great job!!!!!

This was a big moment in Godzila history because for the first time we see the big G get the living crap kicked out of him, sure it topped off when Mechagodzilla turned Godzilla into a blood sprinkaler. But this moment we see the Godzilla pull out everything he can muster to defeat his foes.

Thanks, this was always one of the great moments for me in any G movie as well. "Gigan" may have been a flawed movie, but it did some things very right, and the ending was one of them.

Yeah it was kind of campy but it was a good kind of campy, of all the cheesy G films that came out at that time Godzilla vs Gigan is probuelly the best.

And yeah I love the ending of the movie, it was like a classic western movie were the heroes road off into the sunset.

Nice work, but i wonder why he's invading the Mushroom kingdom? ;) j/k ...

Because that's pretty much all the Mushroom Kingdom is good for, being overrun by monsters and hiding princesses :P

Gotta admit, when it comes to Showa-era punishment-soaking I find it hard to top Big G's experience as a missile-pincushion at the space-titanium mitts of Mechagodzilla, but the licking Gigan dished out is certainly in that ballpark. I mean, counting the stock-footage rehash in G vs. Megalon, how many times did our hero's shoulder get buzzsawed open? 'Course, Anguirus might've had it even worse regarding facial trauma in both films. Gotta love the 70's.

Anyhow, the Mushroom Kingdom Nebulan-contracted architecture forms a hilarious background contrast here, and neat attention to detail (e.g. bloodsmear) on the relevant bits of Godzilla's rugged hide.

A finer, more scholarly kaiju review of my pic I could not have asked for, thank you :) I also love how they portray his punishment here, makes it all the more satisfying when we rises up again. Wish they'd done more of that in the old days.

Heck, I wish we'd seen a bit more of that in the Heisei & Millennium series. Instead, moderate to intense sumo-grapples & deathray-exchanges were the order of most (Biollante & Destroyer being notable exceptions). Newer fans gush over the suit detail of that era, but all that extra bric-a-brac sure seemed to limit the potential choreography.

"A hero must fall before he can rise", and all that kinda stuff I guess :) Thanks.
