Memories of GFest: The Magnificent Nakajima

Honest to God, one of the happiest moments of my life (which is why it's all the more tragic that I was such a putz back in 2008 and didn't think to get any better pictures, but it literally was my first convention and I was so nervous I couldn't think straight).  Meeting and getting an autograph from the original Godzilla himself, Haruo Nakajima, who literally embodied my childhood (and adult) hero Godzilla in twelve films from Godzilla 1954 to Godzilla vs. Gigan.  This was also my braided ponytail stage.....*sigh*
He was a massive sweetheart and the picture is showing him humorously chuckling at my attempts to greet him Japanese, which I can only imagine how that sounded   I also kind of overdid my bow which I think also amused him.  "Geez, this American kid really thinks I'm hot stuff!  Hope he doesn't have a shrine to me back at his house...."
*Sam whistles to himself and looks over at the huge Godzilla toy shelf.....
