#18: The Music Man (1962)

I don't go in for a lot of musicals (at least not on the live action side of things), but the original Music Man starring Robert Preston is surely one of the exceptions.  This movie is just good old fashioned charming fun and is undeniably a must for Iowa natives like me.  it captures the simpleness, the silliness, the often stuck up but ultimately good-hearted nature of the mid-west like only a goofy musical made by another Iowa native (Meredeth Wilson) can.  And no I haven't seen the Matthew Broderick version.  I have a feeling I'd be too distracted by the fact that Nick Tatopolous was taking time out from chasing Zilla all over Manhattan.
